It is pretty much right in between downtown and the Blue Lagoon and would be the perfect spot for a relaxing time. If you are looking to unwind, this is your spot! Also, super close to it you will find Helgafell a famous mountain to hike (2-3 hours hiking) and Íshestar where you can take horse riding tours. A whole cottage with an amazing garden patio in the charming town of Hafnarfjörður, the capital region. The cottage, which is located in one of the oldest houses in town from the 19th century, is amazingly decorated by its owners Anthony and Yr who are co-designers of the Reykjavik Trading Company. A truly fantastic location downtown near the harbor and fantastic cafés and restaurants. You can easily catch the public bus from 1 to downtown Reykjavik or if you have a car, the parking is free!

Due to its remote location, it is a fabulous place to see the Northern Lights in winter. Hvalfjörður is known for the waterfall Glymur, the hike to its top is a fantastic hiking experience in summer.

Incredible luxury in a beautiful setting – The perfect cabin accommodation! The sauna, the spacious patio and the Jacuzzi make for the perfect outdoor experience, great to see the Northern Lights. The Maria Luxury Villa is a great place for groups as it can accommodate up to eight people.

Very likely the most beautifully designed cottage in Iceland, traditional yet contemporary; intimate yet spacious! The photos are stunning but everyone agrees, they don’t do it justice. From the house you have an exquisite view over the Snæfellnes peninsula and, in winter, often the Northern Lights which you can better enjoy out on the patio! This black timber house is amazing for several reasons: design, views, coziness, amenities, and local recommendation. It is located close to Borgarnes less than 30 minutes from all the basic services yet remote.

A bonus one for those looking for complete remoteness, the cabin in Budardalur is the place for you! The setting is secluded and the house particular but the reviews say it all.

If you are looking to stay close to Dalvík, perhaps you are joining one of their popular whale-watching tours but still wish to sleep remotely, then this is the place for you. The house is headlined on Airbnb with “peace elegance + stunning views from your hot tube” and we can safely say that this is all true! A fantastic location in the North of Iceland close to many attractions and must-visits!

A wooden cottage with a turf roof and an interior like many of the museums in Iceland displaying the life of Icelanders 100 years ago. A super host and suburb reviews! The fireplace is a favorite of many and the location, about 10 min drive from the town of Seyðisfjörður is fantastic for some peace and quiet. The place has thoughtful touches everywhere and the whole atmosphere is wonderful at the Sæberg Comfort in the Fjord. The outside and the views from the porch then take this accommodation to the next level. Enjoy the tranquility and location, it is hard to beat!

The reviews are consistent, five stars all around! This place is charming beyond belief and the location is quite rural adding to the Icelandic experience surrounded only by Icelandic horses. The cottage is well-heated and the views around are gorgeous. Great detailing in the decoration of this peaceful place. A fantastic place to see the Northern Lights!

Cozy! This is the word that comes to mind as soon as you enter this beautiful summerhouse. Located in Hveragerði, the town of flowers and geysers on the South Coast only about 45 minutes from Reykjavik. It sits right under the Reykjadalur Valley where the famous hot river runs through and people like to hike up to bathe. The cottage is well-equipped and received nothing but fantastic reviews!

The house design is unique and bright and the interior is simply splendid! The outdoor setting and open views in all directions with an incredibly clear view of Eyjafjallajokull glacier volcano that so famously erupted in 2010. The big windows and two-story-high ceiling in the living room are truly captivating: you can even take a shower surrounded by long windows and enjoy the views while you get clean! A fabulous location, a super host and spacious and bright accommodations.

1. We don’t wear shoes inside – The heating in the houses is so good that you can easily go barefoot!
   
   

2. We take long showers – Icelanders are known for having an endless natural hot water supply and therefore take the longest showers, enjoy this!
   
   

3. We open up the windows a lot – the heating is quite cheap so don’t be shy to air out, especially in the morning.
