About Tour

Relax in the geothermal hot pool located just off the Golden Circle in South Iceland. The perfect add-on to your day of sightseeing. Enjoy a nice warm soak in the natural hot pool.

Highlights

  • Geothermal Bathing in a natural pool
  • Stay as long as you want in the lagoon!

The Secret Lagoon (Gamla Laugin) is a temperate geothermal hot spring located just off Iceland’s famous Golden Circle Route in the South of the country. This makes it ideal for a relaxing, replenishing soak after a hard day’s sightseeing, amidst some truly magnificent scenery. It is generally not as busy as the Blue Lagoon, meaning that it offers a more peaceful experience. We recommend combining it with one of our other amazing tours like the Golden Circle Route, but it works well in isolation too.

The Secret Lagoon is located in the picturesque village of Flúðir and has been in use since 1891 making it the oldest swimming pool in the entire of Iceland. Its waters are volcanically heated by lava flows deep beneath the earth and sit at around 38-40 degrees – the perfect temperature for bathing. It is also surrounded by truly stunning natural scenery, including rolling green fields, bubbling mud pools and a teeming geyser that spews boiling water into the air every 5 minutes or so.

The facilities around the Secret Lagoon are modern with brand new shower facilities for both men and women and a bar selling traditional Icelandic food and drink, where visitors can purchase a refreshing drink that can be drunk in the warm waters of the lagoon itself. Relaxing in one of the world’s finest natural spas is an amazing experience and we hope you can join us there!

Location: The Secret Lagoon is located on Hvammsvegur road in a small village called Flúðir. It's just off the Golden Circle, approx. 20 min from Geysir, which makes it a perfect add-on to your day of sightseeing.

Yes, we do. Langjökull Ice Cave is a magical experience, the tour has no minimum age and is a wonderful option for the whole family. Whale Watching with our partner company Elding has been a favourite with families traveling with young children, these guys have a great success rate in seeing whales (upwards of 98% in the summertime).

Another option would be the Landmannalaugar Safari on this tour you get to explore parts of the Icelandic highlands and bathe in natural hot springs. Most of our super jeep tours are also suitable for children over the age of 6 years old. If you would like a nice and relaxing experience we would also recommend the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon tour.

We’ve partnered with the Kolviður Fund in a new carbon offsetting program, which passengers can select to participate in at the time of booking.

The Kolviður Fund is the oldest, most respected carbon offsetting program in Iceland. With your support, one tree will be planted in special Kolviður forests in Iceland to carbon offset your tour with us.

Kolviður forests are strategically planted to absorb the maximum amount of CO2 and the forests are protected for a minimum of 60 years. During their lifetime the trees absorb carbon and store it in their root system, trunk, and branches. Trees also prevent soil erosion and maintain storage of carbon in the soil.
