Itinerary

Hvammsvik Hot Springs is part of the 1200-acre estate that offers complete freedom to relax and unwind in the natural surrounding 45 minutes away from Reykjavik. Immerse yourself in the natural hot springs on the ocean's edge and see how the pools fill up with a high tide.

Hvammsvik Hot Springs offers eight natural hot springs of various temperatures, a steam bath, and outdoor relaxation areas. The design of these brand-new facilities is inspired by the rich history of Hvammsvik dating back to the 12th century.

Hvammsvík Hot Springs are fed by geothermal water, laying 1400 meters underneath the ground, and the water from the Atlantic ocean. This steady circulation of this mixture of water ensures that the water is clean and of the best quality.

Hvammsvík Hot Springs offers eight natural hot springs of various temperatures on the edge of the Atlantic ocean. The temperatures of the pools vary from ocean temperatures (around 10°C) to even 42°C in some natural hot springs. There’s also a steam bath and outdoor showers located within the complex.

Since hot springs are situated on the Atlantic Ocean, the water level changes depending on the time of the day. This provides you with a unique and ever-changing experience.

  • Swimwear and towels can be rented for 900 ISK each. Wading shoes can be rented for 500 ISK.

  • There's a bar and a restaurant on-site. You can access the bar directly from the springs.

  • The hot springs are open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. (bookings need to be made in advance).
