Iceland Golden Circle and Rafting

This tour is absolutely enthralling. The attractions of Iceland are magnificent and I appreciated the aspect of seeing the Glacier and then the falls created by the Glacier and then the delight of rafting the rapids further down the same body of water.

Itinerary

Information

We will go for a scenic and fun rafting tour down the Gullfoss Canyon. The river has a perfectly balanced mix of beautiful, steep canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. On our way, we pass through the magnificent Brúarhlöð (Bruarhlod) canyon where participants have the option of jumping from a cliff into the river. Afterward, we offer a nice hot shower and sauna in the rafting base.

The Golden Circle has more stops than just our famous rafting base including Geysir geothermal area , home of the original erupting “geyser” and his little brother Strokkur. Catch the sight of superheated water bursting from the ground up to 25 meters high. We will also stop at Gullfoss, the undisputed queen of Icelandic waterfalls. Gullfoss, “the Golden Waterfall”, is an amazing sight. The water flows 32 meters down three steps of lava rocks with breathtaking power and grandeur. Þingvellir National Park is a national treasure where we make one of our stops. Here lies the biggest natural lake in Iceland. Þingvellir is a UNESCO world heritage site and the birthplace of Alþingi, the oldest existing parliament in the world founded by the Vikings more than a thousand years ago. Þingvellir is also a place of many geological wonders as it lies in the tectonic rift valley between America and Europe. It is completely surrounded by beautiful volcanoes created from the ongoing tectonic drift.

This trip is packed to the fullest; stunning natural beauty, deep-rooted Viking history, amazing geological wonders, and a great rafting adventure! The Golden Circle & Rafting is included on all our multi-day adventures, great adventures for an unbeatable price.

Pick up starts at 09:00 am from your selected pick up location in Reykjavik. Please note, that the pick up can take up to 30 min.

Yes, we do. Langjökull Ice Cave is a magical experience, the tour has no minimum age and is a wonderful option for the whole family. Whale Watching with our partner company Elding has been a favourite with families traveling with young children, these guys have a great success rate in seeing whales (upwards of 98% in the summertime).

Another option would be the Landmannalaugar Safari on this tour you get to explore parts of the Icelandic highlands and bathe in natural hot springs. Most of our super jeep tours are also suitable for children over the age of 6 years old. If you would like a nice and relaxing experience we would also recommend the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon tour.
