Adventure Hotels Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the accommodation contract between the guest and Adventure Hotels, including Adventure Hotel Geirland, Adventure Hotel Hof, Adventure Hotel Hellissandur, and affiliated properties. By making a reservation, checking in, or staying at the hotel, the guest confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions for themselves and for all members of their party. These Terms are governed by Icelandic law and subject to Icelandic jurisdiction.

All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid credit card or prepaid according to the booking conditions selected. Guests wishing to pay by credit card must present the card at check-in, where a pre-authorisation for the total cost of accommodation plus a security deposit will be processed. Guests who wish to pay in cash must settle the total accommodation amount, plus a security deposit, at check-in. A valid photo ID is required at check-in, and a copy may be retained on file. Adventure Hotels reserves the right to request a credit card from all guests at check-in, including prepaid bookings, as security for incidentals, food and beverage consumption, damages, or additional cleaning. If a credit card cannot be provided, a refundable cash deposit of 40.000 ISK, or equivalent in EUR or USD, will be required.

Accepted methods of payment include major credit cards and cash. In the event of supplementary charges, guests will be notified in advance and may choose an alternative payment method.

Cancellations or amendments must be received in writing at least 48 hours before check-in time at 16:00 on the arrival date. Cancellations received within 48 hours will result in a charge of one night per room. For stays of two or more nights, the first night will be charged in full and 50 percent of the remaining nights will apply. The hotel charges in full for no-shows, late arrivals, and early departures. To avoid cancellation fees, guests should contact the Hotel Reservations team directly. Changes may result in rate changes and or service fees.

Hotel check-in starts at 16:00. Early check-in is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Check-out time is 11:00. Late check-out may be arranged subject to availability and additional charges.

Breakfast and restaurant opening hours may vary by property, season, and operational requirements. Seasonal changes may be introduced to pre-defined opening times. Final confirmation of breakfast or restaurant availability and opening hours can be obtained by contacting the Front Desk prior to arrival. Opening hours may also change for operational reasons without prior notice. At Adventure Hotel Hof and Adventure Hotel Geirland, breakfast is generally served from 07:30 to 09:30 and dinner service from 18:00 to 21:00, subject to availability and reservation requirements. At Adventure Hotel Hellissandur, breakfast is generally served from 07:30 to 09:30, with takeaway breakfast or lunch packs available upon request and subject to additional charges. Dinner service is not currently offered onsite.

Parking is available free of charge on hotel premises. Parking is provided at the guest’s own risk and the hotel accepts no liability for loss or damage to vehicles or their contents.

Personal items, including money, jewelry, and valuables, are brought onto hotel premises at the guest’s sole risk. The hotel and management accept no liability for loss or damage to such items. Guests acknowledge responsibility for payment of accommodation and any charges applied to their account. Any damages to hotel property caused during the stay may be charged to the guest.

In accordance with Icelandic law, smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited inside all hotel buildings. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. Smoking inside the hotel or outside designated smoking areas may result in a fine or cleaning fee of up to 40.000 ISK. The hotel reserves the right to charge an additional cleaning fee even in the absence of physical evidence of cigarettes, based on the presence of smoke odor as assessed at the discretion of the housekeeping team.

Cooking is not permitted in guest rooms and may result in a fine of 40.000 ISK. Loss of keys will result in a replacement fee of 10.000 ISK per key.

Guests consent to the use of personal information for administrative and marketing purposes. Adventure Hotels will not disclose personal data to third parties except affiliated companies or where legally required.
