Itinerary

Check in at reception and collect your electronic wristband. Once you’ve changed and showered, follow the path toward the lagoon.

Step into the geothermal water and give yourself a moment to adjust. The lagoon stays at approximately 37° to 40°C (98.6° to 104°F), although a cool breeze or falling snow can make it feel warmer. Find a comfortable spot, look toward the slopes of Reykjadalur Valley, and order yourself a drink.

Try the cold plunge when you’re ready for a sudden temperature change. The first few seconds feel sharp, which makes the sauna's dry heat especially welcome afterward. Sit inside until you feel ready to return to the lagoon.

Move through warm and cold water in the Kneipp pool, then return to the sauna, cold plunge, or lagoon.

Enter the adults-only Bathhouse Spa with Signature Admission. Move through the Snow Room, Herbal Pool, Steam Bath, Float Pool, and quiet relaxation areas. Add a massage, facial, body treatment, floating therapy, or another water-based treatment if you’d like.

Enjoy a meal and drinks at Réttir Restaurant before or after bathing. The menu changes with the seasons and features Icelandic ingredients.

Finish your visit beneath a bright evening sky in summer or after darkness has settled over the valley in winter. Stars or the Northern Lights may appear when the sky is clear and aurora activity is strong.

One way to get the most from your visit is to follow this Nordic bathing ritual:

  1. Spend 2 to 4 minutes in the Kneipp pool.
  2. Warm up in the sauna for 8 to 12 minutes.
  3. Cool down in the cold plunge for 30 to 90 seconds.
  4. Relax in the hot springs for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Repeat the circuit 2 to 3 times.

Book in advance to secure your preferred time. Tickets may be available at reception, but same-day entry isn’t guaranteed, especially during peak travel periods.

Arrange your own transportation to Reykjaböð Hot Springs at Árhólmar 5, 810 Hveragerði. The drive takes 45 minutes from Reykjavík, 20 minutes from Selfoss, and roughly 1 hour and 10 minutes from Keflavík International Airport. Public transportation is available near Reykjaböð; check the current route and timetable before traveling.

Shower thoroughly without swimwear before entering the bathing area. Every shower is enclosed with a door and stocked with Reykjaböð Collection shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Swimwear must be worn in the lagoon, saunas, steam room, and other bathing areas. Private changing cubicles are also available.

Pay for anything charged to your electronic wristband before leaving.
