A Zodiac puts you low on the water and right up among the ice. This small boat covers more of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon than larger amphibian boats and, when conditions allow, noses almost to the glacier front where new icebergs break away. You'll spend around 75 minutes weaving between floating ice in shades of white, deep blue, and volcanic ash-gray.
A flotation suit and life jacket keep you warm and secure for the whole ride, open to ages 10 and up (or 4’3’’ / 130 cm and taller), May to October.

• Deep local knowledgeArrive at least 30 minutes before your departure time at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon boat tour base and café, right off the Ring Road (Route 1). The lagoon is located in southeast Iceland, approximately 230 mi (370 km) east of Reykjavík. After check-in, you'll be fitted with a flotation suit and life jacket, then board the Zodiac.
Out on the water, you'll spend about 75 minutes weaving between icebergs toward the glacier front, as close as conditions safely allow. The lagoon is known for seals resting on the floating ice, and in summer you may spot Arctic terns and skuas over the water. Keep your camera within reach for the reflections off the still lagoon.
