Itinerary

Your visit to Earth Lagoon is all about unwinding at your own pace. Soak in the warm geothermal pool, enjoy the natural steam baths, hot tub, and cold tub, and take in sweeping views of the volcanic landscape. You can also stop by the on-site café or swim-up bar to purchase refreshments during your visit.

Admission Options

You can choose the admission option that suits you best, with three different ways to experience Earth Lagoon.

Earth Essential

  • Standard changing rooms
  • Locker for personal belongings
  • Private shower
  • Access to the lagoon, hot tub, cold tub, and steam baths

The changing rooms are divided into sections for comfort and spaciousness, with private showers and personal lockers for your belongings before you enter the lagoon.

Earth Signature

  • Lava changing rooms
  • Locker for clothes and personal belongings
  • Towel
  • One complimentary drink
  • Access to the lagoon, hot tub, cold tub, and steam baths
  • Discount at the lagoon’s bistro

The Lava changing rooms feature natural lava-rock walls, a lava divider between the men’s and women’s areas, and a lava-walled corridor into the lagoon. A towel is included, but there are no private showers.

Earth Exclusive

  • Private changing rooms for up to 2 guests
  • Towels and bathrobes
  • Two drinks per person
  • Exclusive Lagoon access
  • Fireplace lounge access with an exclusive food and drinks menu
  • Earth Lagoon shower gift set
  • Discount at Kvika Bistro
  • Access to the public lagoon, hot tub, cold tub, and steam baths

This option includes a private changing room for two, plus access to a relaxation room and a private lagoon area. Guests can also order food and wine from the lounge menu.

The heart of Earth Lagoon is its open-air geothermal pool, where warm, milky-blue water invites you to slow down and soak in the moment. Heated naturally from deep beneath the ground, the water stays at a comfortable 36–40°C (97–104°F) year-round.

The lagoon is designed for comfort, with a soft gravel-and-sand bottom and plenty of space to unwind. The water is rich in natural minerals and naturally resistant to bacteria, so it stays clean without the use of harsh chemicals.

Because the geothermal water contains sulfur, it is best to remove jewelry before entering the lagoon and store it safely in your locker.

Earth Lagoon also features natural steam baths, where steam rises gently through the floor. The experience is completely natural, and conditions can vary slightly depending on the weather. The temperature is usually around 45°C (113°F), with humidity levels close to 100%.

If you prefer to travel light, swimsuits and towels are available to rent on site. Swimsuit rental costs 1,100 ISK and towel rental costs 1,200 ISK.
