Itinerary

Visit Perlan’s Wonders of Iceland exhibition, where interactive displays and multimedia presentations explain the natural forces that shape Iceland. Walk through a 100 m (328 ft) long indoor ice cave made of snow gathered from Icelandic mountains. From there, continue through the museum’s themed spaces, including glaciers, volcanoes, the ocean, and wildlife.

During your visit, you can also see Styrmir, Perlan’s indoor geyser, which sends water 25 m (82 ft) into the air. Then, watch the Áróra show in the museum’s 150-seat planetarium, presented with 8K projection and 7.1 surround sound. Your admission also includes access to the wraparound 360° observation deck, with panoramic views over Reykjavík and its surroundings. For refreshments and gifts, you can visit Perlan’s gift shop, restaurant, café, and ice cream parlor on site.

  • You are welcome to take photos during your visit.  
  • No special shoes are needed for the ice cave.  
  • Food and drink are not allowed inside the ice cave. 
  • Walk: Perlan is about a 30-minute walk from downtown Reykjavík.
  • Drive or taxi: It takes around 5 minutes to drive from central Reykjavík. Free parking is available outside the building.
  • Public transportation: Strætó bus routes 13 and 18 stop near Perlan, followed by a short walk.
