Itinerary

Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths is a must-do experience when traveling the Golden Circle route. Situated on the edge of Laugarvatn Lake, it is a perfect place for relaxation. This tour provides an entrance to the heated mineral pool, natural steam baths, and Finnish saunas. Visit Laugarvatn Fontana without having to worry about anything else!

The natural steam baths at Lake Laugarvatn have been part of the Icelandic bathing vulture since 1929. Laugarvatn Fontana is one of Iceland's oldest and most famous geothermal baths. Here you can find heated mineral pools, three natural steam rooms, and traditional Finnish saunas to relax your mind and body.

Laugarvatn Fontana consists of three heated outdoor pools of various temperatures with amazing views over the lake. Here you will also find a Finnish-style sauna with temperatures between 80-90°C (176-194°F).

Laugarvatn Lake

Last but not least, the Laugarvatn Lake itself is a magnificent experience. You can swim in the cool waters of the lake, which will give you a perfect break from the heat of the hot springs. If you don't crave a swim, you can take a lovely stroll around the lake to admire the scenery.

Laugarvatn Fontana is located on the edge of Laugarvatn Lake, around a 3-hour drive from Reykjavik. Since it's close to the famous Golden Circle route, these hot pools are popular to visit together with a Golden Circle tour

It is easy to drive to Laugarvatn, which is located on road number 37 on the route to Geysir and Gullfoss. A new road number 354 connects Laugarvatn to the Þingvellir National Park.

Fontana spa is only:
77 km from Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland
29 km from the great Geysir and the reliable Strokkur
25 km from Þingvellir, the old Viking parliament and one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites
39 km from Selfoss
35 km from Flúðir
121 km from Keflavik International Airport
113 km from Landeyjarhöfn Harbor, connection to Vestmannaeyjar
142 km from Landmannalaugar

Laugarvatn Fontana has a kitchen and a café, which offers delicious lunch and dinner buffets, as well as homemade soup. A number of food options at Laugarvatn will make a feast for your taste buds.
