With small groups, knowledgeable guides, and Reykjavík pickup included, this tour combines top sights with a unique glacier experience.

Your adventure begins with morning pickup in Reykjavík, where you set off on the famous Golden Circle route. The first stop is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland’s parliament was founded and the continental plates drift apart. From there, the journey continues to the Geysir geothermal area, where Strokkur hot spring erupts every few minutes in a spectacular display. A short drive away, you’ll stand before Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, cascading into a rugged canyon.
After the Golden Circle highlights, the tour shifts to the glacier experience. From Gullfoss, you transfer to the Monster Truck Base and board one of the largest glacier trucks. Built to handle snow and ice with ease, the heated vehicle takes you on a thrilling but comfortable ride across Langjökull Glacier. Once on the ice, you’ll step inside a natural ice cave, where centuries-old layers of crystal-blue ice and volcanic ash create a truly unique landscape.
With memories made and photos captured, the group returns to Reykjavík in the evening, completing a full day of sightseeing and adventure that combines Iceland’s most famous landmarks with a rare glacier experience.
Your tour begins in Reykjavík at one of the convenient pick-up locations around the city. Pick-up starts at 8:30 AM and can take up to 30 minutes. Look for the Arctic Adventures guides in a minibus/Super Jeep (depending on group size).
After the Golden Circle tour, you’ll switch to the Monster Truck at the Sleipnir Tours Iceland meeting point by Gullfoss waterfall. Once the glacier adventure is complete, you’ll return to the Gullfoss meeting point, switch back to the minibus, and head to Reykjavík.
Please keep in mind that you’ll spend several hours on a glacier. Bring warm outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket, pants, gloves, a hat, and sturdy hiking boots.
Please note that the Monster Truck part of the tour may be cancelled due to sudden weather changes on the glacier. If that happens, you’ll still be able to enjoy the Golden Circle tour.
Icelandic weather tends to change quickly, so for everyone’s safety, we reserve the right to adjust or cancel snack break activities on the Langjökull ice cap.
Iceland is known for its colorful weather. It can sometimes show you all 4 seasons in one day.
Dressing for this sort of weather can be a challenge so we always recommend dressing in layers. 3 or 4 upper layers are highly recommended such as a light t-shirt (preferably wool) next to the skin, then a fleece or heavy wool garment, topped off with a waterproof windbreaker.
Jeans are not recommended for our trips as they become very heavy, cold and uncomfortable to wear when they get wet.
Lightweight hiking pants, track pants or long cotton pants are best and then wind/waterproof pants over. We also recommend using sunglasses and sunscreen even if it is cloudy due to the high UV and sunlight reflecting off of the glacier.
You will need sturdy hiking boots with ankle support that fit crampons for the glacier hiking tours. If you do not own a pair then we rent out good hiking boots as well as a waterproof raincoat and trousers.
We recommend bringing your own backpack on our full day or 1/2 day tours. It’s great to carry a small lunch and some extra clothing.
You can bring your camera along, and you should definitely bring one since the setting on the tour is full of amazing, scenic views.
We do not provide lunch on any of our trips, so we recommend you bring your own lunch (for the longer trips), snacks and a bottle of water (you can refill it on the trip).
Our tours are split into four different categories that help participants to understand what to expect from the tour. The categories are Easy, Moderate, Challenging and Demanding. Each tour is rated making it easier to find tours that suit you.
