The day begins when we all meet at Stykkisholmur Harbour and sail out into Breidafjordur Bay: the whole area is very picturesque and there is a multitude of beautiful things that we will see as we make our way to a series of rocky cliffs that are located at the edge of the bay. As we are sailing, we will be dragging a specialized sea plow along the ocean floor, collecting a variety of delicious shellfish that we will be able to taste and handle later on.

Our boat is designed to get as close to the cliffs as possible, allowing us to get up close and personal with the many incredible bird species that reside in them. The cliffs are also famous for the dramatic rock formations that have been crafted by the ocean waves and volcanic activity in the area. We recommend bringing a camera along, so you can immortalize all the amazing things that you see on the tour.

Then, we will pull the specially designed sea plow up, which will be crammed full of amazing shellfish for you to handle and sample. We normally catch things like scallops, sea urchins, crabs, starfish, and sea cucumbers, offering children the chance to see these incredible sea creatures in the flesh. Then as an extra special treat, we will prepare the sea urchins and scallops for the guests to try, allowing you to sample some of the freshest sushi that you will ever taste.
We will then return to the harbor keeping a weather eye on the horizon for the white-tailed eagles and other seabirds that hover above our heads. This incredible tour is very popular with families and we will give you a coloring book with pictures of the various shellfish and sea life that you see on the trip. If you are looking for something that won’t take up your whole day, while also being educational and fun then this may just be the one for you.

Yes, we do. Langjökull Ice Cave is a magical experience, the tour has no minimum age and is a wonderful option for the whole family. Whale Watching with our partner company Elding has been a favourite with families traveling with young children, these guys have a great success rate in seeing whales (upwards of 98% in the summertime).
Another option would be the Landmannalaugar Safari on this tour you get to explore parts of the Icelandic highlands and bathe in natural hot springs. Most of our super jeep tours are also suitable for children over the age of 6 years old. If you would like a nice and relaxing experience we would also recommend the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon tour.

We’ve partnered with the Kolviður Fund in a new carbon offsetting program, which passengers can select to participate in at the time of booking.
The Kolviður Fund is the oldest, most respected carbon offsetting program in Iceland. With your support, one tree will be planted in special Kolviður forests in Iceland to carbon offset your tour with us.
Kolviður forests are strategically planted to absorb the maximum amount of CO2 and the forests are protected for a minimum of 60 years. During their lifetime the trees absorb carbon and store it in their root system, trunk, and branches. Trees also prevent soil erosion and maintain storage of carbon in the soil.
