The winter in Iceland is great for glacier expeditions. We offer this fantastic two-day tour as a private tour so if you are looking for a glacier adventure, look no further. Once our target is set we load the super jeeps and start our glacier trip.

Our guides on this tour experienced in mountaineering of many kinds and many of them are members of the Icelandic search and rescue organization. They know the area like the back of their hands, are like magicians when it comes to big cars, know how to behave in extreme conditions and are great fun as well. You can expect to have to take part in shoveling snow, setting up camp and preparing meals. After we set up camp it is time to enjoy the surroundings, the serenity of the wilderness and the night sky far from the city lights. From November to March there is a high chance of catching some northern lights.
On our second day, after breakfast and packing up, we start making our way down the glacier again. The descent can be just as exciting as the ascent. We will stop by some highlights on our way back to civilization and end this two-day tour by exploring Leiðarendi lava tube cave close to Reykjavík. On your underworld adventure, you will see the magical rock formations left behind by the last volcanic eruption. During the winter, the cave is likely to be filled with glistening icicles of all shapes and sizes, a sight not soon forgotten. We expect to be back in Reykjavik in the late afternoon.
Remember to bring: Very warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants. Also, bring warm gloves, warm socks, warm sweater and two sets of warm undergarments. Dress like you were going to the North Pole. Meaning, down or fiber insulation jackets are recommended. Remember it is better to layer than to be too cold and unprepared. Good hiking shoes are necessary and can be rented.
Allow for an extra day in Iceland after this trip, i.e. never book a flight the morning after a winter expedition, sometimes conditions and weather can make us late getting into town!
*All meals are included, except breakfast on day 1 and dinner on day 2
