A great day tour along the south coast of Iceland where waterfalls, black sand beach and magnificent landscape play the main role.
This tour gives you the chance to see all the most beautiful sights on the south shore. There is a good reason the southern parts of Iceland are such popular destinations. Locals have been admiring it for centuries, now it’s your turn. Enjoy the mesmerizing waterfall of Skógar, go behind the magical Seljalandsfoss, walk on the volcanic black sand beach of Reynisfjara and get in close contact with a glacier.
This tour is a real highlight catcher for anyone traveling to Iceland.

We pick you up at your selected pick up location in Reykjavik and head towards the east, over Hellisheiði pass and through the southern lowland to Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier of Mýrdalsjökull, Iceland’s 4th largest glacier. From there we move towards Iceland‘s most famous black sand beach, Reynisfjara, where the roaring Atlantic ocean fiercely hits the shore. Just off the beach, Reynisdrangar basalt stacks majestically rise from the sea. Our next stop is Vík, the most southern town in Iceland here we’ll stop at the local church. After we have explored Vik, we turn around and start making our way back to the city. On the way back we will stop at Skógafoss, the roughly 65m high cascade, and the picturesque Seljalandsfoss, where you’ll have a chance to walk behind the waterfall. At all sites, you will have enough time to enjoy and make great memories to take home.
Pick-up: The tour begins at 08:00 am most of the year. However, during high winter season (16th of November – 31st of January) it begins at 07:00 am to make the most of the daylight.
Available pick-up points: Arctic Adventures’s pick-up list.
Remember to bring: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, headwear, gloves and sturdy shoes.

Yes, we do. Langjökull Ice Cave is a magical experience, the tour has no minimum age and is a wonderful option for the whole family. Whale Watching with our partner company Special Tours, has been a favorite with families traveling with young children, these guys have a great success rate in seeing whales (upwards of 98% in the summer time). Another option would be the Landmannalaugar Safari on this tour you get to explore parts of the Icelandic highlands and bathe in natural hot springs (the hot spring part is particularly popular with the kids:)). Most of our jeep tours are also suitable for children over the age of 6 years old. If you would like a nice and relaxing experience we would also recommend the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon tour.
We recommend that you have personal health insurance coverage when participating in any adventure activities in Iceland, we actually recommend that whenever and whereever you travel you take out a good travel insurance, as world travelers ourselves it has saved us money and aggravation many times.

Here is the plus-side to a cold country like Iceland. No dangerous insects survive here! Iceland has about three areas where some mosquitoes have now settled but nothing you will have to worry about on our tours. So to sum it up, no you will not need any repellant.
Tipping is not a requirement here in Iceland although it is permitted and does make most people very happy.
The standard in Iceland is 230V and 50Hz and we use F-type power sockets and plugs, so you might have to bring an adaptor if you are visiting from UK, USA, Canada or other countries using a different voltage, Hz or plugs.
There is a saying in Iceland, if you don’t like the weather just wait 5 minutes. This might sounds like a joke but is strangely true! Thanks to the beloved Gulf Stream, our country enjoys a cool, temperate maritime climate, this means refreshing summers and fairly mild winters. So basically Iceland maintains a surprisingly moderate temperature all year around.
Iceland is a very high tech country. We actually have one of the highest rates of Internet usage in the world. Many restaurants and cafés, especially in Reykjavik, have free wifi access, so if you have a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone you can get Internet access almost anywhere.
There are a few different ways you can book our trips. First of all, you can book almost all our trips right here on our website. There is a booking window on each tour page and we do recommend that you book and pay for your trip there, preferably in good time as we keep our groups small and some tours tend to sell out.

- You can pay through the internet, through our website. This is by far the easiest, safest and fastest way to reserve and pay for your adventure. If you choose this way then you will receive a voucher as a confirmation via e-mail which you will need to bring with you for your trip.

“Great trip to Iceland's south coast”
Huge thanks to George, our guide for this fabulous 10 hour trip taking in two amazing waterfalls, one you can walk behind, close enough to touch a glacier, black sand beach and basalt columns and caves. Thoroughly recommend the small group trip, much more sociable and George couldn’t have been better – offering to stop for photos etc, plenty of time at scheduled stops too. Thanks!
“Amazing Sights, Amazing Guide! - South Shore Tour”
Thank you so much Arctic Adventures for the most amazing day.
Not only was your tour the best priced by far out of all of the similar tours from other tour operators your guide (I think his name was Thomas) clearly loved Iceland and went above and beyond to tell us so many interesting bits of information as we passed through the south coast of Iceland!
The tour bus was comfy and warm and there was only a small group which was lovely! We saw so many beautiful places and learnt so much about Iceland! We would 100% book with you again if we were to come back and will recommend all our friends!
The tour guides are so accomodating to everyone’s needs and are very kind even offering to help take photos! Thank you again so much!
We had only one day and chose to take the South Coast tour. Our guide Pauli was incredfible. The mini van seated 12 but our family of 6 were the only ones on that tour so we had very a individualized tour. Pauli made a couple of extra stops and could stay longer at some stops than others. We even got to see a few early puffins. What a great intro to Iceland!
I had a fantastic tour of the south coast, the tour company uses minibuses which is great as it is far better to tour in small groups, the bus picks up from all the main hotels and hostels in Reykjavik and drops you back, the driver/guide [Norris] was excellent and so friendly,i would highly recommend this tour and tour company.
"Well worth the money."
Booked the South Shore day tour with Arctic Adventures. Hotel pick-up was included and on time. Driver /guide was very informative & friendly. Trip included 2 waterfalls, a glacier, and the black sand beaches. There are plenty of places to get refreshments throughout the trip (or take your own lunch with you). Well worth the money. A great day out.
