The Icelandic Hot Dog, has gained worldwide stardom, it has sparked curiosity, conversation, intrigue, and doubt. But what’s all the fuss about, is it all a hype or does The Icelandic Hot Dog have a real place in Icelandic culture?
We have reached Landmannalaugar, we get out of the bus right next to a campground that is nothing but bare rocks. Now it is time to meet our supply driver that will make our life easy for the next few days, pack his car, have a quick bite to eat, grab our day packs and start what we all came here for, the Laugavegur Trail.
Glymur. The second tallest waterfall in Iceland, originating in Hvalavatn (Whalelake), the water plunges down a drop of 198 meters (620 feet). It's impossible to hike up this path without knowing the story about how Glymur got its name. The story is quite long but we will do our best to get the important parts across clearly.
